My junior project: illustrate Open City by Teju Cole. This book is about the main character, Julius, walking in the city, observing while thinking about life. My idea is to depict those quiet moments I noticed in the book with digital media. I want to contrast foreground and background by drawing one part with outlines and limited color; the other without line works and with color. By that, I want to show the disconnection between people and the rest of the world, the monotonous life, birds, and the city's history.
